The ship's environmental systems break down and she begins to overheat. Environmental officer Evans, who has spent nearly all her life in space and hates planets, is detailed to take a shuttle with Chakotay and find the material they need to make repairs. They are caught up in a storm and crash. Meanwhile, Voyager has to land on the surface in order to survive until the repairs can be made.
