A Crystal Rose

8. A Crystal Rose
By Jessica Ferroni

Hard and smooth as crystal,
brightness dimmed by hardship
and pain.

Still,

He goes on as he can,
a mask and a wall to
protect him. Will he
shine, yet?

Beautiful and delicate as
a rose,
Yet afraid to open for fear
of being vulnerable.

And,

She brushes them off,
distancing herself.
What can become of her?

Maybe,

Somewhere in the middle,
they may meet.

And,
Perhaps,

A crystal rose will bloom.
