Table Talk

Maybe this’ll tide you all over until Sweetest Song is finished….;-)

Table Talk
By Jessica Ferroni

“Eeeuu, this is really disgusting.”

“It was horrible down in Engineering today. Half my team was out
with the flu and now the engine experiments are behind. The Captain
is *not* gonna be happy about this.”

“You think that’s bad, you should’ve been on the Bridge today.
Commander Chakotay got sick in the middle of his shift and we had to
have a med team take him to Sickbay.”

“This is so gross. What is this, anyway?”

“Definitely something with leola root in it. You say Chakotay got
sick?”

“Aw, maybe Torres should send him a get well card. Poor Chakotay.”

“Shut up, Paris, and eat your leola root.”

“Yeah. I thought he was going to, uh,”

“Hurl?”

“Thanks, Tom. Hurl on the Bridge.”

“`Hurl’? Paris, that’s disgusting.”

“He turned green, you know. It was pretty awful.”

“Tom….”

“It made his tattoo turn a strange color.”

“Tom….”

“What?”

“Oh. Suddenly I’m not hungry.”

“Uh-oh. Promise you won’t hurl on the table, Harry.”

“Maybe you should go to Sickbay and see if the Doc’s got an
antidote, Harry.”

“That’s a good idea. Try not to kill each other until I get back,
okay?”

“Does that mean I can kill him when you get back?”

“B’Elanna, he’s a nice guy. Really. Don’t kill him.”

“Thanks, Harry.”

“I’ll be right back.”

“Well, he’s gone.”

“Uh-huh.”

“Um, you say half your team’s out with the flu?”

“Yeah.”

“Shame.”

“Mmhmm.”

“Uh, listen, B’Elanna, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about
something.”

“I’m listening.”

“Um, yeah. Uh, I don’t know quite how to say this.”

“I do.”

“What?”

“You were going to ask me to marry you, and I said `I do’. Harry told
me you were going to ask.”

“Ah.”

“Tom??”

“B’Elanna! I told you *not* to kill him! What’d you do??”

“I….well, I….”

“Tom, wake up. Tom?”

“B’Elanna? What?”

“Uh, Tom….”

“Oh….”

“Tom?? Harry, he did it again.”

“Well, um….set him on the couch. Here, you take his arms.”

“Good thing we’re in your quarters instead of the mess.”

“What’d you say to him?”

“Nothing!”

“Nothing?”

“Must have been the leola root, Harry.”
